Register for the 2022 Collegiate Conference

NY-ACDA COLLEGIATES, REGISTER FOR THE OCTOBER CONGERENCE (10/21 & 10/22)

Join us for the first ever NY-ACDA Collegiate Conference!

Each session, workshop, and masterclass has been specially curated for collegiate students looking to enter the choral field (directing, teaching, conducting, etc.). This professional development opportunity will help prepare participants for job applications, graduate school applications, the first year of teaching, and much more. Along with this, there will be a featured collegiate roundtable with current NY-ACDA President, Doreen Fryling. More information regarding registration and conference schedule is coming soon and we hope to see you there!

Additionally, there are three unique masterclasses for collegiate members including one that focuses on conducting gesture, one that centers around the rehearsal process, and one that focuses on how to introduce a new piece to a choir. Any collegiate ACDA member is welcome to apply regardless of experience level! Please complete the student application and have an advisor/faculty who is familiar with your work complete the recommendation form.

Registration Options
Once it is ready, we will send details via email on how to pay with this method. If you wish to pay by Check, make it payable to NYACDA and mail it to the following address:

Ann Murphy, NYACDA Treasurer
158 Saint Johns Drive, Rochester, New York 14626

If you applied for a scholarship, you will receive a separate letter/email notifying you of the results. Scholarship recipients should submit the fee notated in their scholarship award letter.

MUSIC and REHEARSAL TRACKS: After completing the Registration Form and Payment, you will receive sheet music in the mail and rehearsal tracks via email.

HOUSING: Housing arrangements must be made individually. You are not required to stay at the Hilton Albany; however, it is very convenient as the concert will take place there. Hotel arrangements should be made on your own as soon as possible, as the hotel fills up quickly for the summer music conference. To reserve your room please go to: https://group.hilton.com/vtfjt3 and follow the online process. Rates start at $151/night.

CHAPERONES: Although we do not require parents and teachers to stay with their child/student during the rehearsals, we rely on parents and teachers to volunteer as chaperones to ensure the safety of the children and smoothness of the program. A Chaperone Sign Up link will be sent out later this summer.

WHAT TO BRING: All students must attend all parts of all rehearsals in order to participate in the concert. Students will not be excused from any part of any rehearsal. There are no exceptions to this rule. Please be prompt and remember to bring your music, 2 sharpened pencils, a refillable water bottle (water only) to all rehearsals. No gum! For the First Day Rehearsal, we recommend students bring 1 or 2 snacks to eat during breaks. For the Second Day Rehearsal/Concert, we ask for students to not bring a bag since it’s a quick rehearsal.

CONCERT DRESS: Singers will wear the festival T-Shirts with blue jeans (knee-length or pants are acceptable – please no shorts). T-shirts will be distributed to the singers at check-in. T-shirts must be tucked in and are only to be worn at the concert. Please make sure hair is clean and out of your face, with limited jewelry worn. Singers can wear a nice pair of flats, dress shoes or sneakers for the concert. Please avoid flip flops and heels for safety, as well as scented perfume, cologne, or hair products due to allergies.
Additional information will be sent via email throughout the summer. If you have any questions in the meantime, do not hesitate to contact me.
